Add text to a PDF, free, as real text
Click anywhere on a page and type. Pick the font, size, colour, alignment and line spacing; move and resize the text afterwards. It goes into the file as real text, so it can be selected, searched and copied. Nothing is uploaded.

How adding text works here
- Open the PDF. Drop it on the page or choose it. The editor opens with the Add text tool picked.
- Click and type. Click where the text starts. Shift and Enter start a new line; Enter finishes. Pick the font, size, colour and alignment in the panel.
- Place it and save. Drag the text to move it, pull a corner to make it bigger, then save the PDF to your device.
What it does
- Writes real text objects, so the words can be selected, searched and read aloud.
- Uses a standard PDF font when it covers the letters, and embeds a bundled font when it does not, so letters such as ł, ř or Cyrillic show.
- Changes text that is already in the PDF: double-click it.
- Keeps the rest of the page exactly as it was.
What it does not do
- It does not reflow a paragraph when you add words to it; each line is its own piece of text.
- It does not use the fonts installed on your computer; it offers sans, serif and mono.
- It does not edit scanned pages as text; run OCR first, or add new text over the scan.
Questions
Will the text I add be searchable?
Yes. It is real text in the PDF, not a picture, so search, copy and screen readers find it.
Can I change text that is already in the PDF?
Yes. Double-click it to edit it in place. When its font lacks a letter you type, a matching bundled font is used and the editor says so.
Can I add text on my phone?
Yes. Tap where the text goes and type; drag the box to move it.
Is there a watermark or a limit?
No watermark, no page limit, no daily limit and no account.
Does my file leave my computer?
No. The PDF is edited and saved in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded.
