Convert BMP to PDF, free, without uploading

BMP is the plain bitmap older Windows programs, scanners and screenshots save: every pixel, no compression, so the files are big. Drop BMP pictures and get a PDF with a page for each, every pixel kept and usually much smaller than the BMP. Nothing is uploaded.

How BMP becomes a PDF here

  1. Drop the BMP pictures. Drop, choose or paste them, or a folder. Put them in order with Up and Down.
  2. Pick the page. A4 or Letter with a margin, or Same as the picture to keep the bitmap's own size.
  3. Make the PDF. Each bitmap is packed without loss onto its own page; a BMP stores every pixel raw, so the PDF is usually much smaller.

What it does

  • Keeps every pixel: nothing is re-compressed with loss.
  • Packs the pixels without loss, so the PDF is usually much smaller than the BMP.
  • Takes many pictures at once, in the order you set.

What it does not do

  • A BMP of a photo stays photo-sized in the PDF; Compress PDF re-encodes it as JPEG if you need it small.
  • It does not read text in a screenshot; run OCR PDF on the result to make it searchable.

Questions

Why is the PDF smaller than my BMP?

A BMP usually stores every pixel with no compression at all. The PDF packs the same pixels without loss, the way a PNG does, which often takes a fraction of the room. Nothing about the picture changes.

Will the picture lose quality?

No. Every pixel goes into the PDF as it is in the BMP.

Can I put several bitmaps in one PDF?

Yes. Drop them all, set the order with Up and Down, and each becomes a page.

Does my file leave my computer?

No. The bitmap is decoded and the PDF built in this tab. Nothing is uploaded.
