Rotate a PDF, free, in your browser

Turn every page, the odd or even ones, or the pages you name, by 90 or 180 degrees. A true rotation that every viewer honours, saved without re-drawing anything.

How rotating works here

  1. Drop the files. Any number of PDFs. Each is turned on its own and gets its own download.
  2. Choose the turn. A quarter turn either way or a half turn, for all pages, the odd ones (the front sides of a double-sided scan), the even ones, or a range you type.
  3. Download. The file is saved with each page's rotation value changed. Text stays text, images stay images, and the file stays the same size.

What it does

  • Changes the page's rotation entry, which every PDF viewer honours.
  • Adds to a rotation the page already has.
  • Keeps fonts, images, links and bookmarks.
  • Reads a protected file when you type the password.

What it does not do

  • It does not straighten a crooked scan; that needs a scan tool, which is planned and not here yet.
  • It cannot open a file whose password you do not have.

Questions

Will the rotation show in every viewer?

Yes. The page rotation is part of the PDF format and Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, Edge and every phone viewer apply it.

Does it reduce quality?

No. Nothing is rendered. The file is the same bytes with four numbers changed.

My scan has every other page upside down. What do I pick?

180 degrees and Even pages, which is the back sides of a double-sided scan. Or Odd, if it is the front sides.

Does my file leave my computer?

No. Everything runs in your browser tab. The only network requests are the site's own files.
