Convert GIF to PDF, free, in your browser

GIF holds diagrams, logos, charts and old scans in a few colours, and animations. Drop GIF pictures and get a PDF with a page for each, sharp edges kept and transparent parts left transparent. Nothing is uploaded and there is no limit on how many.

How GIF becomes a PDF here

  1. Drop the GIF pictures. Drop, choose or paste them, or a folder. Put them in order with Up and Down.
  2. Pick the page. A4 or Letter with a margin, or Same as the picture for a page the picture's size.
  3. Make the PDF. Each picture goes on its own page without loss, so lines and text in a diagram stay sharp at any zoom the picture allows.

What it does

  • Keeps every pixel: a GIF is stored without loss, so text and lines in a diagram do not blur.
  • Keeps transparent parts transparent.
  • Takes many pictures at once, in the order you set.

What it does not do

  • An animated GIF becomes one page: its first frame. To keep each frame, save the frames as pictures first.
  • It does not make a small GIF sharper: a 400 pixel wide picture is still 400 pixels on the page.

Questions

What happens to an animated GIF?

A PDF page cannot move, so the first frame becomes the page. If you need every frame, export the frames as separate pictures and drop those.

Will my diagram stay sharp?

Yes. The GIF goes into the PDF without loss, pixel for pixel. It cannot get sharper than the picture itself, so start from the largest version you have.

Is the PDF much bigger than the GIF?

Usually not: a GIF has few colours, and the lossless storage in the PDF packs those well.

Does my file leave my computer?

No. The picture is decoded and the PDF built in this tab. Nothing is uploaded.
