Split a PDF, free, in your browser
One file per page, chunks of N pages, or the ranges you type. The pieces are numbered so a folder sorts in reading order, and nothing is uploaded.

How splitting works here
- Drop the file. The PDF opens in a worker in your tab. You see the page count right away.
- Say where to cut. Every page, every N pages, or ranges typed as 1-3, 4-8, 9-. An open end means to the last page.
- Download the pieces. Each piece is a new PDF with the pages copied as they were. Several pieces arrive as one zip; one piece downloads on its own.
What it does
- Copies pages with their fonts and images; nothing is rendered.
- Names the pieces with zero-padded numbers so they sort.
- Takes many files at once and splits each one.
- Reads a protected file when you type the password.
- Gives each piece the bookmarks to its own pages.
What it does not do
- It does not split by file size or by bookmark.
- It cannot open a file whose password you do not have.
Questions
What does 9- mean in a range?
From page 9 to the end. Likewise -3 means pages 1 to 3, and a single number is one page.
Can I split a 500 page file?
Yes. 500 pages split into 500 files in under a second here. Every piece is kept in memory until you download it, so a very large file split many ways needs room for all the pieces at once.
Why do the names have leading zeros?
So a folder lists report-01, report-02 and report-10 in order. Without them most file managers put 10 before 2.
Do the pieces keep the original quality?
Yes. The pages are copied as objects, with the same fonts and the same images. Nothing is drawn again.
Does my file leave my computer?
No. Everything runs in your browser tab. The only network requests are the site's own files.
